ALIA BHATT VICKY KAUSHAL
Raazi is an incredible true story of the sacrifice of an Indian daughter. This spy thriller is based on a novel “Calling Sehmat” written by HARINDER S. SIKKA. It revolves around a simple Kashmiri girl turned spy and her struggle to protect India from Pakistan’s attack during the war of 1971. I personally found this a unique film with all the actors justifying their role. It is an emotional journey that shows the struggle of the unsung heroes like Sehmat who without any greed can go to any extent to protect their country. Movies like this are what Bollywood needs more today.
When talking about the actors Alia Bhatt has done an amazing job with her acting skills, she is a versatile actor and has completely justified the role.
Khalid Mir played by Jaideep Ahlawat is also an important character, a stone-hearted person who trains Sehmat or her journey. Though he seemed like a person who didn’t care about anything or anyone other than his country he truly was worried about Sehmat.
Iqbal Syed, husband of Sehmat is also an amazing and lovable character. Vicky Kaushal is a young talent and he is already winning the hearts of many people through his Acting. The casting was good and character development had no big problem.
Raazi is a unique spy thriller which will keep you glued to your seats from the start till the end.
Hidayat Khan works as a double agent for India and Pakistan. However, his loyalty till the end of his life remains with India. He sets up the marriage of his daughter with the youngest son(Iqbal Syed) of his friend, Brigadier Syed. The real motive behind this marriage, however, is to send his daughter as a spy and know what the Pakistan army is planning against India. His daughter Sehmat, on her father’s demand, agrees for the marriage and also for doing anything she can to protect her nation. She is trained and then after her marriage, she waits for the opportunity to get some information.
On the other hand, her husband Iqbal Syed respects her and is an ideal husband. With collecting information she also has to face different situations where her identity is at stake and from a soft-hearted girl to killing someone for the sake of protecting her nation, Sehmat is ready to go to any extent. She finally manages to collect a valuable piece of information which played a major role in stopping Pakistan in the war of 1971. However to get that information Sehmat paid a huge price which none except her can understand. Raazi is an incredible story.
