While it’s accustomed to blush, it’s still irksome. Without our assent, our body is giving away a secret- that we want the floor to open up and swallow us! So why do our cheeks turn red?
It’s all about biology. When our body is faced with something that might be embarrassing, it doesn’t know whether to tough it out or run. Your mind may want to up and leave but your legs have other ideas. So to try to set yourself moving, your mind rushes blood to your muscles to make them swift and vigorous. Some of this blood goes to your face, which projects the redness.
BANISHING YOUR BLUSHES
Unfortunately, there’s no magic cure for blushing, but there are a few things you can do to try to attenuate the embarrassment.
DON’T MUSE ABOUT IT
Next time you sense your cheeks getting hot and red, start diverting yourself and try thinking about something else. Try to memorize a date from history class, or work out an equation. Before you know it, your blushes will have utterly dwindled up.
CREATE A DISTRACTION
Start conversing about something else. If everyone else sees you acting as if you’re not bothered, they won’t care, either.
LAUGH AT YOURSELF
Saving face is easy. Just shrug your shoulders and chuckle as if you love nothing better than making a fool out of yourself.
Breathe properly and don’t ponder regarding the solution. It’s really not as faulty as you think. Even if it feels as if the entire world is laughing at you, they’ll forget about it by the very next day.
IT HAPPENS TO EVERYBODY
Remember, embarrassing stuff happens to everyone, including celebs. So hold your head high, you’re in a cool club.
And if all the above fails and you just can’t hide your flushed cheeks, then these work every time.
- Wear a lot of red to provide the perfect camouflage. OR
- Tell your friends you’re experimenting with a new blush. OR
- Tell them you’ve just come from jogging.
